Giving Tuesday: A Day to Make a Difference

A single act of kindness can spark a ripple of change — and Giving Tuesday is proof of that power.

Giving Tuesday, or the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, is a global celebration of generosity that unites people and organizations in creating lasting, positive impacts in their communities and around the world.

Launched in 2012, Giving Tuesday began as a simple idea to encourage people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a worldwide movement and now inspires millions across more than 90 countries to give, collaborate, and celebrate humanity in all its forms.

In 2024, Giving Tuesday donations in the United States reached a record-breaking $3.6 billion, marking a 16% increase from the previous year, which is a testament to the power of collective giving and compassion. Around 36 million people across the U.S. participated, including nearly 18.5 million who made financial contributions, 12.9 million who donated goods, and 9.2 million who volunteered their time.

Today, we invite you to take a personal inventory: Can you make a difference in someone’s life? Whether by donating your time, talent, or resources, even a small act of kindness can have a lasting impact. There’s no better day than today to take that first step.

At SCG, we believe goodwill starts close to home. Giving back is woven into our culture — from collecting food and packing gift boxes to raising funds and providing pro-bono professional services. Our team takes great pride in doing what’s right and making a meaningful difference.

Over the years, SCG has supported incredible organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Autism Speaks, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the Interfaith Food Pantry Network, Cheshire Home, and Samaritan’s Purse.

We’re also inspired by our team members who champion their own causes — each finding their own way to make the world better.

This Giving Tuesday, join us in celebrating the spirit of generosity, and together, let’s make a difference that lasts far beyond today.
