CHALLENGE

Ocean County College (OCC) established a partnership with Kean University that allowed students to earn their Associates degree at OCC, and then – remain on the OCC campus – and earn their bachelor’s degree from Kean University. The partnership provided an extremely affordable (Under $32,000) Bachelor’s degree program, in a state where the cost of a four-year degree could cost as high as $195,000.
Facility had tried a variety of solutions, including virtual job fairs, job postings, etc., to no avail.

SOLUTION

Introduce the partnership/program to potential student and parents, create awareness of the cost savings and generate interest and visits to the website to learn more.

A multi-platform was executed consisting of OOH, cable TV, Video, Social Media and Google ads to introduce the program to a wide audience, while establishing awareness and interest. SCG developed the “Owe. Oh!” campaign, which pointed out the high cost of a college education in New Jersey (“Owe.”) compared to the tremendous cost-savings of a Kean/ Ocean degree (“Oh!”)

RESULTS

The campaign created almost immediate interest and visits to the website increased, as did calls to the schools for information. The Kean/Ocean partnership proved so successful that SCG went on to develop a similar campaign for an Ocean County College/Thomas Edison State University partnership.
